Free Quilting Patterns

Some free patterns online that I want to try one day ... so I guess this is the "to do" list ...
  • Fabric Freedom in the UK, has this gorgeous pattern for a quilt they call "Morris Springtime" (scroll down for it). There is also a whole lot of other patterns, but this one is my favourite. I love the colours in it.
  • Retro Mama have a fabulous tutorial for patchwork easter eggs, that I might try next year.
Gecko Gully have a load of free patterns available for download. I am quite taken with the Neptune Quilt pattern, although not the colours they are showing. I think it would look great in black, red and white.
  • Ideas for Quilting have a list of free block patterns. The Card Trick Quilt Block pattern, looks like an interesting pattern with a trick of the eye. At first glance it clearly looks like the cards are layered, upon closer inspection, it is the way the block is arranged. I could imagine a black back, with embroidery on the actual cards ...
  • Hoffman Fabrics have a free quilt download section as well. I love their Kasuri Hills pattern in Japanese fabrics.
  • Moda Bakehouse have a free pattern section and they have a beautiful binder cover that would look great in something a little more bolder than the pastels they are showing.

Do you have any free pattern site that are worthwhil checking out?

Lots of Lovely Florals

I have been busy uploading some lovely florals that I need to sell :(

This lovely floral, flowers on black is quite a striking design and I always envisaged that I would use it on a front of a bag.

I have some of the Mary Engelbreit designed fabric left over from a mixer cover job. lovely fabric would make a lovely accent on a little girls dress.

I love this red flower fabric! Can't remember the name of it, but I made an o-so-cute backpack for a toddler using this fabric. The pattern for this backpack will be available next month. Please email me if you would like notification of this.

This purple floral fabric is the other shade in this collection. Again, a gorgeous fabric to work with. Again, I did a lovely pinny for a little girl with this fabric.

On other news, Pivx has designed us a lovely sewing to do list. As soon as they are printed we will be giving away a *free* to do list with every purchase of two fat quarters.

Vintage Buttons and Metal Things

I am sorting through all my old buttons making the hardest decision ... do I find a new home for them? And so, they are starting to appear on Pin, Cut, Sew. These ones are such a gorgeous colour and quality, it is almost a crime to get rid of them!

Another item to the Pin Cut Sew inventory are these o-so-cute D Rings! So petite yet strong!,

Matching Fats - Cards

I have some of this material left over from a few projects, it works perfectly together. High Quality Japanese Fabric.

Cute D rings for sale in the etsy shop

I have these cute little D Rings that are ideal for doing coin purses with. I have them for sale in bags of 10 on the Pin, Cut, Sew etsy shop.

Pretty in Punk in the Etsy Shop

Pretty in Punk:

I just love this print, you can do so much with it. I tend to focus on either the face or the skulls when I sew with it. I have done some patchwork blocks from it and it looked quite successful (the quilting tutorial is on the Oh Fransson blog). I have also made some pouches from it and also some very cute baby shoes.

Blog icon

I have made a little icon that people can put on their blogs and link back to Pin, Cut, Sew.
As for the code ...

More Fat Quarters in the shop

I have posted some more fat quarters in the shop!

Here is a bag that I made with this sewing fabric. I seem to have some left over, so I will package up in the hope that someone else might be looking for it!

I absolutely love this fabric. I have made shoes, pouches and even jewellery from this fabric. Good to work with and a lovely black/red design.

Skull Love Fat Quarter

I have started to post fabrics on my online shop.
The first one is a fat quarter of one of my favourite fabrics, isn't it gorgeous!

Welcome

Welcome to Pin, Cut, Sew blog is a space where I can talk fabrics, haberdashery and other supplies needed to make wonderful creations.

In this place I will be talking about my fabric stash and other toys that I use every day. It will also link to my etsy shop where I will hopefully have groovy fabrics, jellyrolls and patterns for sale.

This lovely image is of a block I made for a quilt a few weeks back ... a bit busy, but very me!

You probably won't find much pastel fabric in this space ...

Yes, it is the alter-ego of my other self that makes lots of interesting things with fabulous fabrics.
